Goals and Vision

Goals of the Owen Ministry


Short term trips to international mission areas are valuable to the volunteers and to those to whom we are ministering. Our missionaries evangelize the lost and help to plant new churches around the world. Short term mission trips allow our volunteers to grow spiritually. All learn to pray earnestly for missions, to give generously to missions, and to witness
more effectively wherever we go.



    * A calling to go on a mission trip
    * Ability to contribute to a positive outcome of the trip
    * Genuine attitude of servanthood, flexibility, and cooperativeness
    * Commitment to unity in the team
    * Healthy mind and body
    * Spiritually healthy, prayer discipline, advocate Bible study and obedience to God’s calling in your life
    * Absence of any immoral habit
    * Fifteen years of age or older unless accompanied by a parent


* Conduct ministry under the direction of the missionary in the field and the team leader
* Adapt to and respect the culture of the people being served
* Suppress culture shock with prayer and consultation with friends
* Witness to all people concerning Jesus Christ
* Demonstrate love to all people is a friendly, kind and humble manner

Mission of Owen Ministry

“Building Servant Missionaries for Christ.”  Owen Ministry shall serve the United Methodist Men of the North Georgia Conferencesupport the mission of the UMM of the NGC, assist men to know Jesus Christ, to serve Him, to grow spiritually and seek daily to do his will and promote this servanthood throughout the world by conducting Spirit-led missions.
